EnviroVision Solutions develops field-tested sensor and camera systems that help agencies, industries, and land managers detect threats earlier, verify conditions faster, and make better operational decisions.
Background
From research vision to field detection.
EVS was formed in 2002, with roots in the earlier work of founder and CEO Dr. Gavin Hough. While completing PhD research in space physics in Antarctica, Gavin developed image-processing methods used to detect and monitor the Southern Lights with automated cameras and software.
The movement patterns in aurora imagery shared important similarities with wildfire smoke. That insight, combined with engineering and software development, became the foundation for ForestWatch®, EVS's flagship early fire detection system.

EnviroVision Solutions serves customers through a head office in Durban, South Africa, and a U.S. office focused on North America.
EVS works directly with clients to design practical systems around site conditions, detection objectives, communication needs, and long-term support requirements.
