ForestWatch 4 | Leading the Next Generation of Wildfire Detection

In 2026, EVS USA continues to lead with the full rollout of ForestWatch 4, our next-generation, web-based wildfire detection platform, in the US and Canada. Built on a modern cloud architecture, FW4 delivers improved system reliability, streamlined deployment, enhanced remote access, and scalable performance for statewide and multi-agency environments.

With faster processing, improved imaging workflows, and expanded integration capabilities, ForestWatch 4 represents a complete evolution of the platform, designed to meet today’s operational, security, and interoperability standards while positioning our partners for the future of wildfire intelligence.

Oregon Department of Forestry Wildfire Detection Overview

Illustration explaining a process flow for detecting and responding to smoke. It includes steps: 1. Assess with cameras, 2. Analyze smoke signs, 3. Send alerts, 4. Operator confirms and responds.

Vital early detection and rapid, informed decision-making is saving lives, property and resources when fires flare up.
The ForestWatch® Wildfire Detection and Monitoring System, developed by EnviroVision Solutions, is one of the most advanced wildfire detection systems in operation today.

By combining high-definition imaging with purpose-built image processing software, ForestWatch continuously scans large areas to detect early signs of smoke. When smoke is identified, operators in a monitoring center are alerted and directed to the potential location. Operators can then use camera zoom and image enhancement tools to confirm whether the smoke represents a real threat. Once confirmed, the location is referenced against geographic data to identify responsible agencies, landowners, and access information, allowing response resources to be dispatched quickly and accurately.

Since 2003, the award-winning ForestWatch® system has supported governments and forestry organizations worldwide as both an early warning and decision-support tool, helping protect critical assets in a cost-effective and resource-conscious way.
